2024 Season Nippon Club Tennis Tournament (January – March)

The Nippon Club is pleased to announce one of its main sporting activities, the Winter Tennis Tournament. This season, we will be fully resuming all tournament events from January to March. The January and February tournaments will be held at The Cary Leeds Indoor Tennis Center in Bronx, and the March tournament will be held on the indoor courts at the USTA National Tennis Center at Flushing Meadows Park in Queens, where the US Open is held every year. The tournaments will be open to both men and women in singles, doubles, and team competition. Not only Nippon Club members but also non-member/guests are welcome to participate.
Below are details and registration for the January tournament, and an overview of the February and March tournaments (registration to follow). Everyone is welcome, whether you like to play tennis, play regularly and want to try out for a tournament, haven’t played in a while, or are a first-time participant. Please join us regardless of your tennis level. Let’s enjoy playing your match in the tournament.

*NOTE: Open is a competition in which both male and females can participate. Class A is for advanced players with a level of experience in university athletics, and Class B is for intermediate / beginners. It is a self-report. Veteran doubles requires each player to be over 50 years old, and pairs can be male and female. Please note that the start time for each game and meeting time will differ for each player.

Open Singles A・B Tournaments
$45 for Members, $65 for Guests/Non-membersVeteran Doubles Tournament / Mixed Doubles Tournament
$40/per player for Members, $60/per playerTournament method:
There will be three classes; Open A, Open B, and Women. (“Open” is for both men and women. The team can be only men, only women or mixed. However, depending on the number of teams that enter the tournament, we may not have separate classes.) The match will be doubles only.The team who wins two out of three games will win the match. Please note that we may change the rule, depending on the number of the team entries. Also, please understand that due to the limited number of courts that will be available for us, there may be a waiting time before and/or after your match. Your cooperation will be appreciated.
Team composition: Each team must consist of 4 players, However, a fifth person may be registered as a substitute. The back-up player does not need to pay the fee, but please note that only those who register on the registration form will be eligible to participate in the tournament.) If you cannot gather 4 people, we may be able to match you up, so please fill out and submit this request form.

No food or drink is allowed on the 2nd floor balcony of the indoor tennis court. (However, eating and drinking are allowed in the hallway area on the first floor.)★Team Name Contest：
As an extra feature, there will be a contest to select the most unique team name. Please vote with the designated form while looking at the tournament table that will be posted at the venue on the day of the event. (Only one vote per person)Registration：
