Bronze Cast Objects Exhibition in New York
“Golden Words” and C-Art”

When looking at the natural world around him, Mr. Osamu Takeuchi sees most forms, such as the human body, animals, fish, flowers, leaves, and stems all beginning with C-shaped curves as their most basic element and being constructed with combinations of such C-shaped forms. The first bronze objects that he cast used minimal three-dimensional C-shaped curves to express different aspects of nature, referring to them as the elemental C-shaped forms. From there, he proceeded toward expressing more abstract thoughts and concepts by combining the elemental C-shaped forms into 3D objects that he named “C-Art”.
 
For Mr. Takeuchi, it is a wonderful “coincidence” that the music scale starts from the note “C” and that words such as “communication” and “concept”, which have strong connections with the dawning of the human community, begin with the letter “C”.
 
“Life in Art” is the motto for C-Art. With the theme “to promote communication between people and between people and nature”, Mr. Takeuchi’s hope is to promote art and C-Art furniture that harmonizes with and appeals to the modern lifestyles. C-Art furniture incorporates basic C-shape forms, such as table legs, floor lamp bodies, and other parts of the furniture.
 
“Golden Words” is a companion guide published to accompany Mr. Takeuchi’s artwork collection. Uniquely designed to reach audiences worldwide by having every passage in English, French, and Japanese, he expresses elemental components of nature and people with C-Art based on his personal reflections as someone raised in Japan, where—it would be no exaggeration to say—Zen Buddhism’s influence on society and culture has been massive.
 
The C-Art exhibition in New York City brings together sixteen carefully selected C-Art objects from the “Golden Words” collection and two sets of tables and chairs using the basic C-Art forms as legs. Mr. Takeuchi regards the exhibition as a wonderful opportunity to share and contribute in his own personal way to creative processes.
 
These highly original C-Art objects made of basic C-shape forms display the quality of the traditional Japanese casting process and metalworking techniques. Being highly versatile yet inspired by artistic sensibilities, they require mastery of meticulous skills, and therefore, cannot be mass-produced. There are six large and small sizes of the basic C-shaped forms that can be combined to create various art pieces. These basic C-shaped forms can also be used as furniture parts such as table legs and floor lamp bodies, etc. Assembly and disassembly for easy transportation is made possible by processing the joints of the basic C-shaped forms to make them detachable.
 
Mr. Takeuchi believes that in these modern times, furniture as an expression of thoughts and ideas, just like museum works of art, are in demand now more than ever.He is ready to provide his services to process the basic C-shaped forms and designs for professionals such as furniture production companies, interior designers, and interior coordinators.
 
Exhibitions are planned for New York, Paris, London, Dubai, and other places. Mr. Takeuchi hopes to promote friendship between people from different parts of the world through such occasions. He wishes for it to become an opportunity for others to understand the culture of Japan on a different level through the vehicle of his unique art and perspective.
