Diana Damrau, the world’s greatest soprano, is coming to Carnegie Hall!

On Tuesday, February 6th, we will hold the second special event, “Magical Night at the Carnegie Hall” for a small group of members only.

The event is to begin with dinner. Guests will gather at the Nippon Club and have a special dinner box.

Afterward, guests will move to Carnegie Hall, located diagonally across from the Nippon Club, for the concert. This is a special recital by one of the world’s leading sopranos, Diana Damrau, with Helmut Deutsch on Piano. We have good seats in the Parquet on the 1st floor.

Damrau’s advanced musicality, intelligent singing technique, and rich expressiveness stand out in the singing world. She is a diva whose wide repertoire includes Bel Canto opera and Verdi opera, and opera houses around the world are eager to have her perform. Last May, she held two opera aria concerts at Suntory Hall, which excited the Japanese audience.

The concert at Carnegie Hall on February 6th will focus on 19th-century and 20th-century works by Robert and Clara Schumann, Richard Strauss, and Spanish composers Rodrigo, Granados, Turina, and Obradors. The accompanist is the one and only master Helmut Deutsch, a long-time partner. Damrau’s supple voice, reminiscent of shining silver, is sure to transport us to a beautiful poetic world, accompanied by a sophisticated performance based on his thorough knowledge of Deutsch’s musical scores.

Additionally, Carnegie Hall has provided us with passes to the “Patron Lounge,” which will be open before the show and during intermission. Complimentary beverages (tea, coffee, and water) and snacks will be served in the lounge, and a cash bar will be available for purchase of other beverages. The Patron Lounge is ordinarily accessible only to patrons who donate $3,000 or more to Carnegie Hall each year, but for this special event, our guests are invited to relax there.
