The Japan Parade will be held again this year on Saturday, May 11, starting at 1:00 pm at Central Park West in Manhattan. Shingo Kunieda, a former professional wheelchair tennis player and four-time Paralympic gold medalist and “wheelchair tennis legend,” will serve as the Grand Marshal of the 3rd Annual Japan Parade.

We will be participating again this year as the “Nippon Club/JCCI Team” as we did last year, and we are looking for members who would like to walk in the parade with us and make the “festivities” more exciting. All participants will receive a special Nippon Club/JCCI T-shirt to wear in the parade. Participants may also wear yukata or happi coats as an option (please note that we cannot provide a place to change clothes). Participants must be members of the Nippon Club or JCCI (including family members). You are also welcome to join the parade with your family and/or friends even though they are non-members. Children are also welcome. Children can wear their favorite Halloween costumes, princess dresses, etc., in addition to the T-shirts and yukata.
