Raised in Yokohama City. Graduated from Nagoya City University School of Medicine in 1996.
Trained in spine surgery at Hokkaido University in 2007-8, Hospital for Special Surgery in 2008-10, University of Colorado in 2010-11, and NYU in 2011-12.
Worked as a spine surgeon at SUNY Downstate Medical Center from 2013-2022.
From 2024, he will work as a spine surgeon at Northwell Queens.
