17 Ikebana-Sogetsuryu

Shigeno Okamoto
Shigeno Okamoto is a senior master of the Sogetsu School of Ikebana, holding rank of Riji. She is presently the Deputy Director of the New York Branch of Sogetsu School. She is also the past Presidents of Ikebana International New York Chapter and Sogetsu School of New York.Shigeno Okamoto has participated in many annual show exhibitions of Sogetsu New York, Wasetsu Study Group Exhibition and Greater New York Flower Show and Met Museum Demonstration. The recent show was in the Japan Information Center Gallery Re-opening Show at Japanese Consulate General of New York last November. She also teaches many at Great Neck Library and hold Annual Flower Show twice a year. She led Great Neck Garden Club to the National Winner of U.S. Garden Club Flower Show competition. She studies ikebana with Mrs. Judith S. Hata since 1982 and annual study in Japan Head Master Class, summer seminars, North American Regional Conference Exhibition and work shops. She also attends Ikebana International World Conferences every other 4 years. |
